About Us
Our Founder's Story
The Grant Guidance Group was founded by Michael K. Grant Sr. — a dual citizen of Barbados and the United States, and someone who has lived this process personally, not just professionally. Raised partly in Barbados “on The Rock" and partly in the U.S. — a "Bajan Yankee" through and through — Michael understands both sides of the Caribbean citizenship journey: the paperwork, the patience, and the payoff. Having recently completed his own path to Barbadian citizenship by descent, he founded The Grant Guidance Group to help others navigate the same process with less confusion and fewer wasted trips to the wrong office.
Why We're Different
Most people trying to claim Caribbean citizenship or track down a birth certificate run into the same wall: outdated contact information, offices that no longer exist under the name you were given, or simply not knowing where to start.
We solved that problem before we ever took our first client. The Grant Guidance Group has personally verified — by phone, directly with each office — the current contact information and procedures for the vital records departments across all 15 CARICOM member states. We're not working from a webpage that hasn't been updated in years. We're building direct, working relationships with the offices themselves, starting with Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guyana — the countries of origin for the majority of the Caribbean community we serve here in The New York City area.
That groundwork means less guesswork for you, fewer wasted trips, and an application built on current, accurate information from day one.
What We Do
Citizenship by Descent — determining eligibility and guiding you through the application process based on your family's ancestry
Vital Records Acquisition — securing birth certificates, marriage certificates, and other official documents your application depends on
(Launching Soon) Passport Acquisition & Renewal — new applications and renewals, with guidance to avoid the common mistakes that cause delays
What we don't do: We do not offer Citizenship by Investment (CBI) services. If that's what you're looking for, we're not the right fit — but we're happy to point you toward legitimate resources.

The Grant Guidance Group is a proud member of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CACCI), and we're actively building relationships with the consulates, cultural organizations, and community institutions that make up New York's Caribbean diaspora. This isn't a service built from a distance — it's built alongside the community it serves.
